The Division Update 1.1: How to Trading Gear?
The first big patch for Tom Clancy's The Division is live, and along with it comes the final word on how gear trading works.
The ability to exchange loot earned by killing enemies in the online shooter has been a much-requested feature by The Division's community. It's inclusion is considered by many players to be a feather in the cap for the game versus it's closest competitor,Destiny. But no one will be getting rich brokering deals in the Dark Zone. That's because gear trading is limited to one hour after the item was first picked up.
It's also limited to only the individuals who are in your group, and who were in your group initially when the loot dropped.
This is a great move by Ubisoft. Otherwise players just have to spend money to get the best gear, as opposed to playing the game. Of course, No one was expecting it to be free trade. Copies the way Diablo 3 works and WOW works (you can trade Bind on Drop for up to 2 hours to party members).
So don't expect to run to eBay or G2A — known as marketplaces for gear in games likeCounter-Strike: Global Offensive — for high-end knee pads or specialized sniper rifles. Trading in The Division will be a much more intimate affair.
